Sugar Ray
talks about his new improved
Sonny Amp Jr. 410

Since creating a friendship and trust with Gary Sonny Jr. Onofrio in 1994, I have exclusively used the Sonny Jr 410 amp, which I loved. Sonny recently told me he had improved on the tone, projection, sensitivity to the touch, and while skeptical, trusted him to install the design modification package available to all existing 410 owners, to make the amp into a Super Sonny model. The sound now is projecting 75% of the air and sound out the front thanks to his unique sound enhancer lower back panel, which our drummer Neil Gouvin appreciated 100%. He stated he could feel the sound being directed forward rather than being blasted with the back draft of air normally found in 4 x 10 amplifiers.

When I made the modification, the thunderous chords knocked a picture of my wall, it was That reactive, and still had great crispness, all in my hands, I could float while I played. My first live club gig was at Chan's in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on July 31, 2009 and Sonny Jr. was there to tweak my frequencies of my amp for the right balance of lower end and crispness. I was Really feeling what I was playing, Sonny's fiancee Dr. Kay King shot the show with a camcorder and new stereo mic and it is some of the best sound and video we have seen. Sonny got up and showed why he knows how an amp should sound and feel like, we always have a lot of fun when be play together, no egos, just flat out fun.

I strongly recommend any player who needs a harp to contact Gary at www.Sonnyjr.com to ask about both his amps, the Chess recording sound Cruncher midsized amp with so many great endorsers, and the new Super Sonny tonal beast.

Here are some links to some of the songs of that night: Contact Gary who may still be running an initial kick off a new product sale, plus he sells fantastic mics that cup nicely in your hands for that great seal. He has his amps dialed in so you only need to make minor adjustments to just a few controls the whole night. His line out feature will allow you to get the true speaker sound when going into the PA system, or you can mic a speaker, or Both. You will Never be a prisoner of guitar players again.

The songs listed now on You Tube and soon My Space are:

Mother In Law Blues

Off The Wall

And The Angels Sing

Can’t Hold Out Much Longer

Sugar Ray & Sonny Jr.
